A&R is responsible for discovering emerging talent in the Boston music scene. Members of this department scour local shows and the internet for artists that they think would work well with Green Line Records, and approach them with the possibility of recording a single. If the offer is accepted, the A&R member will work with the artist to coordinate the various efforts that Green Line Records’ departments will provide for the project.
The Recording department is responsible for recording and mixing the artists that Green Line Records works with. Recording has access to three professional-grade studios on Northeastern’s campus to work in. All sessions are fitted with Lead Engineers, Assistant Engineers, and Engineers in Training so that on each project there are a mix of competent experts and members aspiring to learn these skills.
Members of the creative department work in teams (Publication/Branding, Photo/Video, Social Media, and Artist Team) to produce deliverables for the entirety of Green Line Records. This content ranges from design work, photography, and videography, to written publications and marketing strategies, and more.
Events works with both big-name touring artists and local emerging talent to put on some of the most exciting shows on Northeastern’s campus. Events hosts monthly concerts in afterHOURS featuring prominent touring artists, often featuring local musicians or Green Line Records artists as opening acts.
Good Dog Licensing is a first of its kind, student-run music licensing platform. Using Creative Commons, students work to recruit independent artists to add their work to the GDL library - no strings attached. Curators work to connect these musicians to independent filmmakers and syncing opportunities. For more information on Good Dog Licensing visit our website, linked below.
